Café of the Gate of Salvation are an a capella choir inspired by the African-American vocal tradition: the passionate, committed and exciting music of gospel and spirituals. This is music that has been at the heart of the movement towards political and spiritual freedom.
Formed in 1986, performing continuously since and touring extensively around Australia and New Zealand as well as overseas, the Choir will be in Manly for one night.
“...the music sends shivers up your spine and shoots straight to the heart.” Claire McKenzie (Brisbane Courier Mail)

Sumompo Rubbish Dump Resource Centre
To provide a resource centre on Manado’s rubbish dump in order to outreach to the 250 local families living and working on the dump. It will involve providing basic sanitary and health education, basic skills training and extra-curricular education to some 50 children as well as providing a salary for a local community worker.
Child Survival Program to support mothers and babies
To prevent premature death, secure good health and enable positive early childhood development of the most vulnerable children in this part of Manado. Interventions include medical assistance, pre-natal and post-natal care, and education on preventable diseases and malnutrition.
